Duluth East's Randolph to UNO
By Rick Weegman, Duluth News Tribune
Jake Randolph couldn’t think of a better way to rid himself of the awful feeling lingering from Saturday’s 9-3 Hockey Day Minnesota loss to Minnetonka than to receive a visit from Nebraska-Omaha coach Dean Blais.
The Duluth East senior winger met with Blais before Monday’s practice at Heritage Center and accepted a full-ride scholarship to play for the Western Collegiate Hockey Association team.
“He put the offer on the table and I wanted to say ‘yes’ right away, but I thought I should talk to my dad first and tell him that’s what I wanted to do,” Randolph said about discussing the offer with East coach Mike Randolph.

Brainerd used physical play to throw Roseau around and keep the Rams from lighting up the scoreboard in a 5-1 victory on Saturday night.
The Warriors could have been described as something of an underdog coming into the game. Brainerd had never won in Roseau, and had only beaten the Rams once in school history.
Griffin Campbell got Brainerd off to a 1-0 with less than five minutes to play in the first period.
